With 15 years of experience in the IT industry, Lon has a range of experience from web application development to Linux and Windows system administration. He especially enjoys working with customers to find technological solutions that enhance their business processes and improve customer or employee satisfaction. Past projects include: setting up multi-office Windows and Linux networks, architecting a data center for high-traffic web applications and geographic fault tolerance, utilizing Amazon Web Services for high-uptime and performance ecommerce sites, Single Sign-On solutions, database reporting using Crystal and Jasper Reports, business and web applications using Ruby on Rails and PHP, high-security system and network design to meet PCI standards, replicated systems and databases for disaster recovery and business continiuity purposes.
Lon also enjoys meeting technologists and end-users at conferences and seminars. He also co-founded the Central PA Open Source conference, which is an annual conference since 2008 for enthusiasts and professionals using open source or related technologies.
